HELLO! My name is Dawn Papanayotou and I am very proud to be a Registered Respiratory Therapist working for London Health Sciences Center (Homepage | LHSC) in London Ontario, Canada.

I am a Charge Respiratory Therapist for the Respiratory Therapy Department at University Hospital Campus. I love my work!! For the past 20 years, I have had the privilege of working collaboratively within a dynamic multidisciplinary team with the mutual goal of achieving optimal outcomes for our patients and their families.

In my new role as Charge Respiratory Therapist, my responsibilities are varied. I am the support and resource person for the respiratory therapist staff. I monitor the daily workflow of the department, maintain my skills so that I may perform all tasks in all areas and act as a subject matter expert and resource person for respiratory therapy and nursing staff.  I perform all tasks and carry out all responsibilities according to established standards of practice, regulatory and accreditation requirements as well as professional standards. I am a member in good standing of the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario (CRTO) (Home - CRTO) as well as the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) (Home - CSRT ).

Every patient I care for is treated with dignity and compassion, and a commitment to excellent care.  As a Charge Respiratory Therapist, I aspire to promote teamwork, accountability and respect amongst my peers.

I am currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Health Studies from Athabasca University in the hopes of building and developing my leadership skills. As I continue my learnings, I aspire to foster the development of others in my field,  to actively build relationships and connections with others and to create a climate of continuous improvement amongst my peers.
